The Charity evening of the Class 2011 of the Bulgarian School of Politics took place in Pravets on 19th March. Donations for activities with children from the Social Institution for Children with Disabilities in Vidrare, the Center for Family Type Accommodation in Velingrad and the Orphanage in Stara Zagora, as well as for the Cause of the Class 2011 – “Tolerance”, which focuses on civic education of students and young people in Bulgaria, were collected. A total of 10 695 leva were raised. During the Evening, an exhibition with 30 items, made by the children from the three social institutions, was organized. The items were then sold as part of the auction.
The children from the institution in Vidrare had sent dolls, T-shirts with hand-made drawings and jewelry boxes, made as part of their art-therapy activities. The children from the orphanage in Stara Zagora had provided kukeri masks and hand-drawn mugs, plates and vases, made during their fine-art and applied art activities. For several months, the children from the Center in Velingrad had worked together with confectioners from the local company, which produces sweets and pastry. For the auction, they had sent Easter sets with Easter sweets and pastries, and pottery figures, made in the Center’s atelier. The items provided by the institution in Vidrare raised 770 leva, the ones from the institution in Stara Zagora – 730 leva and these from the Center in Velingrad – 620 leva. The items exhibited and sold during the auction were made thanks to the financial assistance of a joint project between the Bulgarian School of Politics and the Bonita Trust. The project supports the activities of School Alumni with the three children institutions.
