Bulgaria will remain a firm supporter of the democratic dreams of people as they endeavor to change. That says the Bulgarian Minster of Foreign Affairs Daniel Mitov during the opening of the 3rd Summer Academy of Strengthening Democracy on the Euro-Med Region organized by the Bulgarian School of Politics “Dimitry Panitza”. This year edition of the Summer Academy is devoted to the problems of democracy and education. The event is supported by the South Program 2 of the European Commission and implemented by the Council of Europe. In front of 21 young political and civic leaders from Morocco, Tunisia and Bulgaria the Bulgarian Foreign Minister stressed on the two major factors for successful development of the Mediterranean region. One of these factors is the importance of dialog and the second one is the development of the democratic institutions based on the principles. He says also that the Summer Academy is testimony of this conviction and commitment. In her speech the Executive Director of the Bulgarian School of Politics Irina Alexieva underlined the importance of the mutual knowledge. Only knowing more about each other on the two shores of the Mediterranean sea we can overcome our prejudices, our fears and to build up our common future, she says.
