THE FIRST COURSE OF THE REGIONAL PROGRAM 2008 BEGINS IN SKOPJE, REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA


The first course of the Regional Program 2008 – “Political Parties and Civil Society: Key Actors in the Democratic Process” – begins in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia, on July 16.

Participants in the program are young politicians from the Balkans – members of parliament, government institutions, local administration, civil society organizations.  The program includes seminar sessions and presentations by experts from Bulgaria, Croatia, and Macedonia. 

The opening lecture will be delivered by Chris Henshaw, NDI Resident Senior Director in Macedonia.  Among the other lecturers are Dr. Svetoslav Malinov, MP (Bulgaria), Mr. Ivica Bocevski, spokesperson for the government of Macedonia, Dr. Marijana Grbesa (Croatia). Participants will also visit the National Assembly of Macedonia.  The program continues until Sunday, July 20.
