Not just a gift, but beauty and joy for good and support. That took back with them all visitors of the Charity bazaar “Christmas Stars”, organized with the support of BSoP Alumni in the Archeological corner of the Impresia Hotel in Stara Zagora.
The unique gifts for Christmas were made with lots of diligence, creativity and love from the children from “Nezabravka”(Forget-me-not) Orphanage. Visitors could buy Christmas cards, Kukeri masks, aromatic candles, hand-painted glass items – paintings, plates, applications, smiling hand-knitted dwarfs with Christmas trees, and bottles, where a special wish for a significant one could be inserted. Everyone could set the price for the chosen item themselves and leave money into a special box.
The event was part of the project “Young Leaders Assisting the Social Integration of Children from Institutions”, funded through the Bonita Trust and implemented by the Bulgarian School of Politics “Dimitry Panitza”. Its goals are to reestablish charity as a core value in contemporary Bulgarian society and to support long-term engagement to social integration of children from institutions. For many years School Alumni have supported the children from “Nezabravka”(Forget-me-not) Orphanage to develop their skills and abilities, which could be helpful for their further development. Activities with the children will continue in 2012 through supporting new art ateliers and organization of different activities.
