The Tunisian School of Politics was launched

The Tunisian School of Politics was launched

On 26th February the Tunisian School of Politics was launched. It was created with the support of the Bulgarian School of Politics “Dimitry Panitza”, the Dutch Institute of Multiparty Democracy, DemoFinland – a Finnish organization supporting youth party networks, and the Tunisian Center for Mediterranean and International Studies. Through its initiative “Sofia platform”, the Bulgarian Foreign Affairs Ministry provided a venue to be used by the School for its activities.

The Tunisian School was welcomed by the Prime Minister of Bulgaria Mr. Boyko Borisov and the Foreign Affairs Minister – Mr. Nikolay Mladenov. Mr. Sergey Ignatov – Minister of Education and Mr. Trajcho Trajkov – Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism also attended the ceremony.

 

The work programme started with a speech of the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Bulgarian School of Politics “Dimitry Panitza”, Mr. Julian Popov, and the Director of the Tunisian School, Mr. Ahmed Driss. Among the lecturers were prominent Bulgarian and Tunisian political figures. Twenty members of the Tunisian Constituent Assembly, which is an equivalent of about a tenth of all members, attended the first course of the School.
