23 young Tunisians, actively engaged with the political and civic life in their country, were awarded their certificates for successful completion of the training “Elections and Democracy”. The training took place is Hammamet, Tunisia and was organized by the Bulgarian School of Politics “Dimitry Panitza”. The project is funded by the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie and is implemented along with the Tunisian School of Politics.
The certificates were awarded by H. E. Mihail Nikolovski, Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Tunisia, Dr. Irina Alexieva – Executive Director of the Bulgarian School of Politics “Dimitry Panitza” and Dr. Ahmed Driss – Executive Director of the Tunisian School of Politics.
During 5 days, young political and civic leaders discussed topics related to Tunisian electoral legislation, electoral systems and practices, the role of different institutions and media in the electoral process. They also work on case studies, prepared and took part in simulations of pre-electoral debates, wrote political speeches, and worked on developing pre-electoral strategies.
The training was conducted prior to the forthcoming Parliamentary elections in Tunisia.
