BSoP alumni improved their skills in the area of strategic planning of communication campaigns

A new training workshop for the alumni of the Bulgarian School of Politics “Dimitry Panitza” was organized on 25 October and assessed as very successful. The topic was “Strategic Planning of Communication Campaigns” and 18 alumni from different classes took part in the event. The trainer was Mihail Stefanov, who is now responsible for the communication strategy of “The A21 Campaign” Foundation and prior was Communications Director at the National Network for Children.

During the training, the participants improved their knowledge regarding right and wrong cycles of communication campaign planning, the basic elements of campaign preparation, how to correctly define the goals and the audience, and select the message and the communication channels. A special attention was put on the importance of evaluation of the communication campaign with a particular focus on impact assessment.

In the last panel, the participants split into small groups worked on case studies for strategic planning of communication campaigns of philanthropic causes.

The training was part of the project “Promoting Philanthropic Culture in Bulgaria 2012-2014” financed by the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation.
