Mr. Yassin Souidi, an alumnus of the Bulgarian School of Politics “Dimitry Panitza” took part in the Ministerial Meeting organized within the framework of the White House Summit to Counter Violent Extremism where he met with Ms. Meglena Kuneva, the deputy prime-minister of Bulgaria. The meeting was hosted by U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and took place on February 19, 2015. It was intended to look at ways to address the violent extremism that is driving today’s threats, while also focusing attention on addressing the underlying drivers of violent extremism to prevent future threats from emerging. The meeting convened an unprecedented diversity of stakeholders – more than 65 governments, civil society representatives from over 50 countries, two dozen private sector leaders, Secretaries General from the UN and a half-dozen regional organizations, the World Bank, and the World Economic Forum.
Mr. Yassin Souidi from Morocco is a graduate of the Summer Academy for Strengthening Democracy in the Euro-Med Region, which is organized by the Bulgarian School of Politics “Dimitry Panitza” and brings together young political and civic leaders from Bulgaria, Morocco and Tunisia.
