Four representatives of the Citizen School for Political Studies in Morocco were on a working visit in Bulgaria from 24 to 28 March. They took part in a training organized by BSoP “Dimitry Panitza” in the framework of the project “Supporting the creation of multiparty dialogue in times of transition: experience sharing between Bulgaria and Morocco”, which is funded by Robert Bosch Stiftung.
CSPS’ representatives met with the Chairperson of BSoP’s board Sasha Bezuhanova, with members of the board Boriana Dimitrova and Antoniy Todorov, and with the Executive Director Irina Alexieva. The main subjects discussed during the meetings were the multiparty dialogue in Bulgaria in the times of transition, BSoP’s role in the process and the means to transform party priorities into national ones. During the visit, BSoP’s team and the Consultative Council to the Executive Director shared with the Moroccan experts their experience on how the school and the political parties work together for the realization of the National Programme “Governing Skills” and what mechanism are used for the selection of the young political leaders who participate in it.
The working visit also included meetings with MPs from different political parties, who are alumni of BSoP, with the Bulgarian MEPs Vladimir Urutchev, Georgi Pirinski and Ilhan Kyuchyuk, the vice-premier Meglena Kuneva and the adviser to the President Rumyana Kolarova. They discussed issues related to the interactions of the parties on European level, different forms of multiparty cooperation in the Bulgarian Parliament, the role of the President’s institution in the process, coalition culture, etc. CSPS’ representatives were received by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco in Bulgaria H.E. Latifa Akharbach.
