The future of Europe

The accent during the second day of the National Program was the future of the European Union. The day started with a lecture delivered by H.E. Ms. Emma Hopkins, the British Ambassador to Bulgaria. She talks about the future of Britain in the European Union and possible scenarios after the referendum in June. In the afternoon there was a topic on the political processes in Visegrad group. Guests-lecturers were the political scientists Radoslaw Markowski, who is the Director of the Center for the Study of Democracy and professor at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Warsaw, and Dr. Kiril Avramov, a lecturer at the New Bulgarian University.

Intraday the trainees took part in a simulation game on the decision making process in the European Council. They had a lecture on the same topic delivered by Ms. Ingrid Shikova, professor of European Studies at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”

Special guest speaker in the panel “30 minutes with …” was H.E. Ms. Latifa Akharbach, Ambassador of Morocco in Bulgaria. She spoke about the relations between EU and Morocco.
