On 25 April a crafts atelier with the children from the Center for Family-type Accommodation in Velingrad was organized. During it, the children created Easter baskets, which will be gifted to the main sponsors of the Center, the Mayor of Velingrad, the Chair of the Municipal Council and the municipal department of the State Agency for Child Protection. Some of the baskets will be sold on a charitable bazaar. The raised funds will be used for continuing the art activities with the children. The materials for the Crafts atelier were bought with the funds raised through the annual Charity evenings of the Bulgarian School of Politics “Dimitry Panitza”.
For ninth consecutive years representatives of different cohorts of the School have been supporting the art activities of the children from the Center in Velingrad. The most active alumni are Irena Tahova from Class 2008 and Vasil Avramov from Class 2007. The initiatives are supported by the director of the Center Desislava Sandakova. The activities with the children are part of the long-term engagement of the alumni of the Bulgarian School of Politics “Dimitry Panitza” with different charitable and philanthropic causes and the understanding of philanthropy as a key virtue of the contemporary leader.
